Who/What is NSE

Net Social Education (NSE) facilitates Social Media Training Programs with the collaboration of the Bill J. Priest Institute for Economic Development, an El Centro College campus. El Centro College is a campus of the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD). NSE offers the only North Texas social media certification program that requires training via an accredited education institution. 

Where are NSE courses taught?

Courses are developed and facilitated at the Bill J. Priest Institute for Economic Development, an El Centro College campus, and at the NSE Headquarters in the North Dallas/Carrollton area.

What exactly does NSE do?

NSE, with the Bill J. Priest Institute, teaches individuals and business owners new ways to leverage social media tools in a business’s marketing strategic plan. 

Our mission is to be the first choice in social media education and fill a dual need: 

• Provide social media professionals with an NSE certification 
• Enhance the resume with a Certification for social media and marketing professionals
• Provide the business community with quality, certified individuals to handle their social media needs and help them build their online presence

NSE provides a valuable certification track for Social Media Professionals via a condensed “Social Media Immersion Program” that is backed by the credibility of courses developed and facilitated by Bill J. Priest faculty who are specialists in social media . 

After completion of the core curriculum and a comprehensive examination, NSE awards the NSE Certified Social Media Agent certification. 

I'd like for my mother to take the Facebook (or other) class. Can I buy here a gift certificate?

I'd like for my son/daughter to take some of these courses to learn more about technology, how to navigate the social web with safety, and maybe to do social media work to earn money. Can I buy him or her a gift certificate?

What are the certification options?

NSE offers the NSE Certified Social Media Agent Program. The Social Media Certified Agent will have a solid foundation in Social Media Basics, Facebook, Twitter, and Multimedia. Future certification options will include a comprehensive Social Media Strategist Program.

I don't need to become certified. Can I take individual courses? 

Absolutely. Please visit our course catalog to register for individual courses. 

I'd like to receive NSE Social Media Certification, but I've been working in social media for a long time and feel I don't need all of the classes. Is there a way to receive certification without taking the classes?

NSE offers a Certification by Demonstration of Proficiency track that is intensive but ideal for the experienced social media professional. The process is as follows:

• An examination of existing social media platforms and/or communities they have managed
• Review of resume by the NSE team and the Bill J. Priest Senior Program Development Specialist
• 2 professional reference letters which specifically mention knowledge of social media
• Completion of an exam that demonstrates proficiency

I have not used social media very much. Do you have "beginner" courses?

Yes, we do. Please visit our Beginner's Courses to register for our Intro courses.

Can I earn CEUs for taking NSE/Bill J. Priest social media courses? 

Yes. El Centro College awards .1 CEU for each contact hour of instruction. If you take a 7 hour course, you will receive .7 CEUs. 

I registered and am unable to attend. Can I get a refund?

Cancellations received up to five full busines days before the class date will be refunded in full, minus a non-refundable $25 registration fee. Cancellations made four days or less before the date of the class are subject to the entire cost of the class with no refund. This non-refundable payment will be automatically applied to your "account" and can be used for schdeduling of future classes. There will be no refund for non-attendance without notice.
